
Melissa Dragone is a co-founder and partner of Krogmann Miller Dragone, PLLC. She is an experienced Virginia family law attorney dedicated to guiding individuals, and families, through complex domestic relations matters with clarity, compassion, and strategic advocacy. Ms. Dragone focuses her practice on divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and the negotiation and drafting of settlement agreements. She also has experience in preparation and negotiation of premarital and post-nuptial agreements.
Since being admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2019, she has regularly represented clients in Virginia courts and has handled matters ranging from negotiated resolutions to contested litigation. Her practice is grounded in a hands-on, client-centered approach and a deep understanding of the legal and emotional complexities inherent in family law cases.
Ms. Dragone also has intimate knowledge of the processes associated with assisted reproductive technology (ART), having undergone In Vitro Fertilization herself, and is aptly suited to help families navigate this aspect of a divorce.
Prior to founding the firm, Ms. Dragone practiced at Masterman Krogmann PC, where she began as a law clerk and later joined the firm as an associate attorney. During her tenure, she developed significant experience in sophisticated domestic relations matters and strives to represent her clients with honesty, diligence, professionalism, and strong advocacy.
Ms. Dragone is a member of the American Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia State Bar Family Law Section, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, and the Northern Virginia Women Attorneys Association, among others. She is the past chair of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Family Law Section, and the current Co-Chair of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association Diversity and Inclusion Alliance. Ms. Dragone also sits on the Board of Governors of the Virginia State Bar Family Law Section as the young lawyer’s liaison.
She graduated summa cum laude with her undergraduate degree from Arizona State University in 2015, and graduated with her Juris Doctor from The Antonin Scalia School of Law at George Mason University in 2019. Upon graduation, she received the Virginia State Bar Law Student Book Award for Family Law, recognizing the graduating student who demonstrated the greatest promise and potential in the field of family law.
Since beginning her practice, Ms. Dragone has been consistently recognized for her work in the area of family law by Best Lawyers Ones to Watch, and Super Lawyers Rising Stars. She is also a member of the Class of 2024 Up & Coming Lawyers recognized by Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
